6 Anime Like Tsugumomo [Recommendations]

Tsugumomo is one of those titles that is hard to look away from. You're also probably waiting for more episodes, because it's currently airing at the time of this writing. We've got you covered, it's time to fill that empty space in your heart with this list. Family heirlooms are great, they can give us memories, and powerful overprotective kimonos. Kazuya Kagami's kimono can even transform into an overprotective woman. This results in tons of ecchi for the audience, and superhuman powers for Kazuya. There are many people who would love to be in Kazuya's place! Regardless of everyone's feelings on the genre, you have to admit, it would be nice to have a superpowered body guard.

Though it should really go without saying (especially if you've seen Tsugumomo), this list isn't for kids, or the easily offended. It's certainly not everyday that an overprotective guardian shows up, and starts bouncing her jugs around like they're basketballs. Luckily for the rest of us that can tolerate it, this is mostly an ecchi list, where that happens all the time! Tsugumomo is more than just ecchi, thankfully, and incorporates quite a bit of action and comedy too. With that in mind, you will find 6 titles like Tsugumomo below, to keep you entertained between episodes!

Similar Anime to Tsugumomo

1. High School DxD New

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: Jul, 2013 – Sep, 2013

Remember back when you read about this list not being for kids (like 5 seconds ago)? The first scene in the first episode is a big pair of naked breasts in your face, the ecchi is strong with this one. Issei Hyoudou dreams that one day he will have a harem. Being a devil sure has it's perks, Issei is halfway to his dream! Taking place after the events of the first season, the Occult Research Club continues to carry out their activities. The devils find out that there are “Excalibur” swords, which are holy swords, in the possession of their enemies. These swords can hurt even the most powerful of devils. Issei and the gang fight back with their own “Sacred Gear” weapons, and try to take out the swords.

Rias Gremory is a full-blooded devil and is infatuated with Issei, she acts as Issei's guardian through most of the series. Kazuya Kagami, in contrast, has his own powerful guardian woman, named Kiriha. Kiriha can transform into a powerful shape-shifting weapon in Tsugumomo. Rias has her own power she uses to protect Issei. Both Issei and Kazuya have insanely sexy and powerful bodyguards. Both Kiriha and Rias, in turn, are always flirting, and rubbing their breasts on the main protagonists. If you like Tsugumomo so far, you'll probably like High School DxD New, even though it's quite a few notches higher on the ecchi scale.

2. Omamori Himari

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: Jan, 2010 – Mar, 2010

It's allergy season for some of us in the world, and for Yuuto Amakawa, it's always allergy season! Poor Yuuto is allergic to cats, and can't seem to escape them. One day Yuuto is attacked at school by a demon! It turns out that Yuuto's ancestors were demon hunters, and demons are out for revenge! Luckily, just before he's attacked, Himari Noihara jumps in to save his life. Himari has been watching from the sidelines, guarding Yuuto this whole time. After saving his life, Himari proceeds to fawn all over Yuuto! Unfortunately for Yuuto it turns out that Himari is also a cat demon. Himari loves to rub all over him, and exacerbate his allergies. What a lucky guy!

Just like Tsugumomo, and High School DxD New, Omamori Himari features a powerful guardian woman. Himari, Rias, and Kiriha should get together and talk. All three of these characters are guarding someone, have powers of their own, and have super-powered baddies. We bet they could form their own (slightly more perverted) version of the “Avengers”, you can't go wrong with that! If you liked Tsugumomo, you'll definitely want to check out Omamori Himari. If you're allergic to cats, however, you may want to take medication first.

3. Heaven's Lost Property (Sora no Otoshimono)

  • Episodes: 13
  • Aired: Oct, 2009 – Dec, 2009

The world has many mysteries, and in this one there is a circular vortex, which hovers around the world. Sugata Eishirou monitors this vortex and discovers that it's really a portal to another world! This portal keeps dropping things onto the Earth, and one day it drops a girl. Tomoki Sakurai sees this girl fall from the sky, and runs away. Tomoki has a motto, never let anything disrupt his peaceful perverted life. He then goes against his nature and tries to save her anyway, getting himself saved by the girl, when debris almost kill him. Ikaros (the girl) is a “pet-class angeloid”. Ikaros tells Tomoki that he is now her master, and it's her duty to fulfill his every wish. Tomoki is an impressive breed of pervert, and has Ikaros do all kinds of messed up stuff.

Like Tomoki, Kazuya has a powerful female protector, willing to bear everything (yes everything) for him. Unlike Kazuya, Tomoki tries to cop as many feels as he can, with every girl he can. There is a scene where Tomoki inadvertently wishes that his childhood friend's panties would fly away. Later in the series, there are many flying panties, which form in the sky like a flock of birds. Both shows are impressively perverted, and hilarious. If you like Tsugumomo, or ecchi in general, you'll want to give this a shot!

4. Mayo Chiki!

  • Episodes: 13
  • Aired: Jul, 2011 – Sep, 2011

Gynophobia is defined as an extreme or irrational fear of women. Kinjirou Sakamachi lives in a home where the woman are dominant, and his mother is a pro-wrestler. Kinjirou gets beat up all the time in his own house, which explains his fear of women. One day at school, he discovers the most popular guy in school is really a girl! Subaru Konoe (the girl), proceeds to threaten his life if the secret gets out. Later, Subaru's maid Kanade Suzutsuki, makes sure the two get along, by tying them both to separate beds (of course)! Kanade is a tad bit sadistic, it turns out, and loves to sexually torture Kinjirou. It sure doesn't sound like Kinjirou is getting over his gynophobia any time soon.

“Mayo Chiki!” is a bit different from everything else on the list, because the protagonist is actually afraid of women. While it's different, it's also very familiar in the ecchi side of things. Like Kiriha from Tsugumomo, Kanade takes it upon herself to help fix Kinijrou's problems. Kanade grows somewhat attached to Kinijrou, to the extent of nearly throwing Subaru out of his house. Kanade is sexually aggressive, and like Kiriha, she can be quite forceful when it comes down to making contact with the protagonist. Kiriha sleeps with Kazuya regardless of what his opinions are, and it's the same with Kanade when it comes to Kinjirou. If you liked Tsugumomo, it's a bit different, but give this one a shot.

5. Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens (Kannagi)

  • Episodes: 13
  • Aired: Oct, 2008 – Dec, 2008

Jin Mikuriya is a boy who can see impurities in the world, which manifest as frogs, bugs, and other things. These creatures need to be purified and can usually only be seen by goddesses. After Jin makes a statue out of a sacred tree, the goddess Nagi awakens. Nagi isn't all too happy that her tree has been chopped down, because that tree gives her exorcist abilities. Jin's statue is all that's left of Nagi's tree. It becomes clear to Jin that Nagi doesn't really know much about the current human world. Nagi is so innocent, she doesn't even know when taking a bath is appropriate! With nowhere to call home, Nagi has to learn about the world from Jin, while squishing impurities.

Nagi basically forces Jin to let her stay with him. Later in the series, Nagi runs into her sister Zange, whose tree isn't disturbed, and therefore has her full powers. Zange can eliminate impurities without much effort, and holds that above her sister's head. Like Kiriha, Nagi and Zange are powerful protectors of the protagonists. Jin can see the impurities, which intrigues the goddesses. Nagi loves to make Jin serve her, and Kiriha makes Kazuya do the exact same thing. If you liked Tsugumomo, give this one a shot, it's not as ecchi as some of the others on the list!

You've got to wonder just how many goddesses could there could be in the ecchi genre? Well the answer is a lot! Ryosuke Kaga is a man on a mission, a perverted mission! In fact, when he runs into Lisara Restall (a goddess of Death), his perverted antics literally power up Lisara's abilities. Lisara is on the search for “the one man” who will help save the world. After Ryosuke bumps into Lisara, she starts living with him, and the two eventually grow closer. Could Ryosuke and his perverted power be enough to make him “the one”?

Kiriha and Lisara would get along swimmingly. Both are powerful, and have claimed a man to be their servant. Lisara is a bit more extreme when compared with Kiriha, however. Lisara loves to beat the crap out of Ryosuke for his perversions, but Ryosuke doesn't seem to mind! Lisara and Kiriha also both summon large weapons and abilities when they're ready to battle. Lisara is one heck of a fighter, and so is Kiriha! If you're into Tsugumomo you should give it a try!

Final Thoughts

Many people may be too embarrassed to give ecchi and harem genres a fair shake, but you never know, you might like what you find. If you ever find yourself in a situation where a naked girl shows up in your room out of nowhere, good luck! Hopefully she doesn't turn out to be some sort of vengeful spirit or goddess. Either way, Honey's will be on the lookout for any stray goddesses. You never know what they can do when they get loose! Did you like our spicy list? or perhaps have comments about it? We would love to hear your comments below.

I was born in Colorado Springs. I found myself around friends who liked to play video games and watch anime. The first anime I saw was 'The Slayers' original TV series on VHS. I will be going for a bachelor's degree in 'Health Information Management' starting August 1, 2017. Recently, I moved to Washington State and I am in a town that has less than 2000 people.
