Hey everyone! It's been quite a while hasn't it! Welcome back to “eat like your anime faves,” a series where we teach you just how to eat like characters do in anime. That’s right; you learn how to cook real Japanese food from anime. We're back at it again to give you more of what you love!

Spring season has finally made its way to Japan, with the cherry blossoms blooming and the sun beaming with energy. We thought it would be great to provide you with some very eye catching and mouthwatering dishes that are very popular with everyone! In our next installment of the ELYAF series we will take a look at Teacup Parfaits. Teacup Parfaits are the more sophisticated version of the original parfaits we all know and love, but with teacup parfaits, there can be many variations! The wonderful aspect of parfaits is that you can throw in just about any flavor of ice cream, along with your desired toppings to create the ultimate dessert for you and friends. Let us dig right in.

1. Teacup Parfaits from Working!!

In the third episode of Working!! the teacup parfait was displayed in all greatness for us to admire. We thought it would be exciting if we could provide you with the recipe on how to prepare it yourself if you ever get the sensation to try it out. The popular dish can be found all across the globe, with flavors ranging from fruits, all the way to espresso for the coffee lovers. For this particular recipe, we will focus on the teacup parfait recipe from working!! to make it easier. Whatever your pleasure, we have you covered so let us hop right in and start cooking!
Teacup Parfait 1 Working!!
Doesn’t that look delicious? Oooo yea!

What you will need:( Serves 1 or more people )

Whip cream
Desired amount

Ice cream (Strawberry/Chocolate)
1 scoop of each

Waffle bites
1 or 2 sticks

Fresh cut strawberries
desired amount

Blueberries
desired amount

Vanilla Yogurt
4 scoops of yogurt

Granola
1/3 cup of granola

Optional Ingredients:

other fruits, chocolate sauce, nuts, icing, honey, kit-kats, etc.


Teacup Parfait 3 Working!!

How to cook it: (20mins/ low cal)

  1. 1

    Prepare a teacup and place strawberries along the bottom.
  2. 2

    Layer the strawberries with vanilla yogurt with your own desired amount.
  3. 3

    Throw in your blueberries on top of the yogurt along with some granola for added crunch.
  4. 4

    Continue to layer each item until the teacup is almost full.
  5. 5

    Add on some whip cream and top that with 2 small scoops of strawberry and chocolate ice cream.
  6. 6

    Complete the package by throwing in 2 waffle bites into the whip cream, and enjoy your wonderful teacup parfait!

(Note: If you are lactose and tolerant, or can't handle too much dairy, be sure to use a safe non-dairy alternative. We don’t want you to get sick. )

Teacup Parfait 2 working!!

Strawberry Parfait from Working!!

Right off the bat in Working!! we were introduced to the teacup parfait in episode 3, a unique variation of the traditional parfait we all know and love. In our second half of the ELYAF we will take a look at how to create the more well known parfait known as the strawberry parfait! Unfortunately in Working!! the parfaits didn't turn out so good, so we feel confident that with our help, the parfait will be a recipe for success for you. We hope that you find this useful, and make sure to have fun with this one as there are many ways to create a parfait.
Strawberry Parfait 1 Working!!

What you will need:( Note: Serves 1 or more people )

Strawberries
1 cup of sliced strawberries

Vanilla Yogurt
1 cup of yogurt

Whip Cream
desired amount

Granola
½ cup

Kit Kat Chocolate
2-3 sticks

White sugar
desired amount

Optional Ingredients:

Various fruits (avocado, pinapple), ice cream, chocolate sauce, etc.


Strawberry Parfait 3 Working!!

How to Cook It:

  1. 1

    Prepare a teacup and place strawberries along the bottom.
  2. 2

    Layer the strawberries with vanilla yogurt with your own desired amount.
  3. 3

    Throw in some extra toppings on top of the yogurt along with some granola for added crunch.
  4. 4

    Continue to layer each item until your glass is almost full.
  5. 5

    Add on some whip cream and top that with more strawberries and sprinkle your desired amount of white sugar for added flavor.
  6. 6

    Complete the package by throwing in 2-3 Kit Kat bites into the whip cream.
  7. 7

    If you would like, throw on some chocolate sauce for added intensity and supreme power!

(Note: As mentioned earlier, if you are lactose and tolerant be sure to substitute dairy products for a safe non-dairy product. If you aren't sure about whether you have allergies, make sure to gather that information from your doctor. Otherwise, go nuts with this and have fun. )

No matter what season, parfaits will always find their way into your dessert menu. The parfait has become very popular due to it's versatility, which allows for some very unique and great tasting treats. The wonderful aspect about parfaits are that not only are they extremely delicious, but depending on the ingredients you use they can be a healthy alternative to other high calorie desserts.
