Shunta Mogami, who loves battle spirits, is one day led by a card and summoned to the Spirit World. Eto, the shrine maiden who summoned Shunta, tells him that the spirit world is in danger of complete destruction should the Dark Emperor of the Gods be revived. In order to stop this from happening, the power of the Twelve Emperors of the Gods must be gathered.

Led by Eto, Shunta and another boy who has been summoned, Yoku Albatrosa, set out on a journey to search for the Twelve Emperors of the Gods who are scattered across the earth.

Shunta Mogami

A sixth grader in elementary school who loves Battle Spirits, and has enough skill to take on the Battle Spirits National Championships. Bright, energetic, with a strong sense of justice. A crazy character whose curiosity makes him challenge everything and anything.

Yoku Albatrosa

Voice Actor: Mutsumi Tamura

A young man who, like Shunta, is led into the Spirit World. Although he has a strong sense of justice, he is also a prideful and competitive, meaning his teamwork is somewhat lacking. He also sometimes argues with Shunta due to their differences of opinion when it comes to Battle Spirits.

Eto Etoshinmori the 8th

Voice Actor: Sawako Hata

A descendent of one of the families of priests that worship the Twelve Emperors of the Gods. Wise and calm, she shows Shunta and the others the path they should take.

Tatsumi

Voice Actor: Jun Fukuyama

A dark Battler who is plotting to revive the Dark Emperor of the Gods. Tries to stand in the way of Shunta’s progress and steal the Twelve Emperors of the Gods. Coldhearted and cruel.

Mei Merryhad

Voice Actor: Kotori Koiwai

A village boy for whom the Twelve Emperors of the Gods are guardian deities. An easygoing boy who hates conflict. Is dragged into the fight to prevent the revival of the Dark Emperor of the Gods due to the Twelve Emperors of the Gods card which he inherited from his father being targeted.

Sand Rat

Voice Actor: Junichi Suwabe

A mysterious man that stands out due to his afro. He keeps a close eye on Shunta and Yoku, and tries to steal the Twelve Emperors of the Gods, but he’s kind of an idiot and fails every time.
