So is this like Transformers for kids?

This almost feels like a lot like Active Raid just less with the threat of society collapsing due to terrorism.

Hmm I'm kinda getting a hunter x hunter vibe here personally.

Now that you say that, this is very shounen/kids in nature. I wanna say...maybe Beyblade or Magi too?

Synopsis

Set in a future not so far from now…

In order to deal with disasters unfathomable to human knowledge, criminals, and accidents that are complex and multifarious, the government has created a new organization. A brand-new organization takes with the purpose of saving humanity, the Hyper Rescue Mobile First-Aid Police, developed “Drivehead.” It specializes in law enforcement, firefighting, and first-aid.

Driveheads are large vehicles that can transform from their car forms to human-esque, unique form, walking vehicles!

Discovered via an aptitude test, elementary school student Gou Kurumada and others are selected to become drivers. Joining together with the powers of the mobile first-aid police, they set out today as well to be first responders in protecting peace and safety for all! Go Rescue!

Three Episode Impression

At first glance, this anime is basically what you get from combining Power Rangers Turbo and Transformers. They have cars that can transform into bipedal robots who fight injustice in the world and are called “Drive Heads”. What’s interesting here is that the driver is a grade-schooler named Gou Kurumada.

To my conclusion, I think this anime is better targeted towards a younger audience of anime fans. So, if you find this interesting, buckle up and join the rescue ride with the “Drive Heads” in Tomica Hyper Rescue Drive Head: Kidou Kyuukyuu Keisatsu!

Characters & Voice Actors List

Gou Kurumada

Voice Actor: Natsumi Fujihara

Gou is a positive and upbeat young kid. He tends to push his luck, but he does do things at his own pace. Even then though, he makes great company and he has a personality that no one can dislike. His father is one of the developers for Drivehead. Gou has a photographic memory and as such is able to recall a scene in an instant. This is extremely helpful when providing disaster relief as well as solving crimes.

Taiga Yagura

Voice Actor: Saki Kokuryuu

Taiga is great at sports and has excellent grades. Taiga not only has also mastered playing the piano, but he is also cool. This leads him to be the target of affection from the girls at his school. He is the nephew of Chief Saonji of the Mobile First-Aid Police, so he is proud and views Gou as more of a rival in the beginning. However after viewing him in action, Taiga acknowledges his skills.

Jin Ishino

Voice Actor: Kei Shindou

Jin is the twin younger brother of Mikoto. He is the most mature out of the entire Drivehead team. He does have a bit of a shy side, but he is gentle, dislikes disputes, and is the coordinator of the team. Just like Mikoto, his parents are engaged in medical care abroad, and as such, he has a strong sense of justice.

Mikoto Ishino

Voice Actor: Sachika Misawa

Mikoto is the twin older sister of Jin. Naive and very feminine, she does things at her own pace. She is very popular among female students as an idol. Mikoto and Jin both are proficient at calculation, so when there is a difficult decision to be made at the scene of an incident, this skill comes in very handy.
