Eir Aoi to Play at Hawaii’s Kawaii Kon!!

Kawaii Kon is held annually at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu and is an event you don’t want to miss if you’re into the anime culture (plus, Hawaii, you don’t want to miss that anyways)! The event is slated for March 27-29 of 2015 and they just announced they’re bringing in the sensational Eir Aoi to perform live! If you have no idea who that is, I’m almost close to guaranteeing that you do (you just don’t know that you know).

Eir Aoi is a 26 year old singer from Sapporo, Hokkaido. Born November 30, 1988 she’s just barely older than yours truly, and if you haven’t heard of her, you’ve probably heard her voice. She sings openings and endings for some of the most popular anime such as Kill la Kill, Fate/Zero and Sword Art Online with more than that!

Eir Aoi - Ignite

Aoi started her singing career in high school by forming her own band, performing publicly and posting her videos online. Aside from being incredibly stunning, she’s managed to branch out from the Nico Nico Douga website to be signed by SME Records Inc. Fun fact: she had given up on her music career after high school but kept singing publicly!

She released her first single on October 19th in 2011 entitled “Memoria” that was featured as Fate/Zero’s ending theme, ranking number 8 on the Oricon Singles Weekly chart. After releasing the tribute album Prayer in April of 2012, she performed live for the first time in her career just one month later in Tokyo.

Moving quickly to the hearts and minds of Japans finest she released her second single titled “Aurora” in September of 2012 and two months later her third single “Innocence” that was used in Sword Art Online.

Eir Aoi - INNOCENCE (Music Video)

Two short months after that on January 30th 2013, she released her debut album Blau. In March, shortly after her albums release, Aoi was invited to sing at Sakura-Con in Seattle, Washington marking her first ever international performance!

With such an up and coming sensation right at the beginning of what could be an incredible career, don’t be one of the people who are going to miss out! I highly suggest taking the time to see her videos or check her out live!

If you want to keep up on the latest information, you can find her official Twitter page here; and her official web page here! So if you’re in the neighborhood remember to check her out at Kawaii Kon coming soon!
