Synopsis

The 2nd season of Kagewani.

The super-creature Kagewani completely devours everything in existence. Entangled in a plan to weaponise the Kagewani, Banba Sousuke becomes possessed by a clone of the creature, and is never heard from again.

There’s the high-speed chase drama with Sarugaku Pharmaceuticals, who are relentlessly tailing Banba; the conflict with a new tribe, who’ve made it their mission to exterminate the Kangewani; the strange beasts that attack humans one after the other. In the midsts of this intense disarray, will Banba be able to put an end to his battle with the Kagewani?

Sousuke Banba

Voice Actor: Tomokazu Sugita

The protagonist and story writer. He’s normally calm, but burns with an unusual passion when it comes to UMA. He has a wound above his left eye which aches when strange beasts are near. When he was little, his village was attacked by the Kagewani, and both his parents were brutally murdered. The wound above his eye is also a result of the creature trying to leech off him. In an accident at Sarugaku Pharmaceuticals, he became fused with a clone of the Kagewani, and is sometimes attacked by strange beasts because of this.

Voice Actor:

A super-creature that exists in the second dimension, a ‘shadow’ that does not have a physical form. It looks like a shark on the outside, with a large mouth that opens sideways and multiple fins and eyes covering its entire body. Those that are bitten by the Kagewani are infected with its cells and turn into strange beasts. It senses shadows and eats the shadows of its prey. Those whose shadows are stolen are eaten too, and die.
