Long Running Manga Akagi Confirmed to Be Ending in 2018

What You Need to Know:

  • Today it was announced that long-running manga series Akagi will be ending after 27 years of publication. It is set to finish in February of 2018. Akagi is written by Nobuyuki Fukumoto and first began its run in June of 1991. The mahjong gambling series received a 26 episode anime in 2005, a drama adaptation in 2015, and has continuted to be published since.
  • It was revealed starting today at 15 stations on the JR Yamanote train line in Tokyo, and on the homepage for the magazine that it is serialized in, Kindai Mahjong, that after all of this, the series will offically be coming to a conclusion in February of next year. A 33 volume compiliation has also been ordered and the first three volumes will be going on sale this week Wednesday.
