Are you sure about that one Bombon? I feel like this is a lot closer to Danganronpa: The first season. This happens in a school, or maybe more than one since there are so many characters, and a lot of people are going to die.

You both are correct actually. This is the game King's Game taken to the extreme. There is going to be so much blood. Someone hide this from Mo-chan.

Oops. I knew I was forgetting something! Quick! Distract her with Ansatsu Kyoshitsu which is similar but softer!

Synopsis

Nobuaki Kanazawa has just transferred to a faraway high school. Due to something that he experienced at his previous school, Nobuaki is afraid of becoming close to his classmates and has closed his heart towards them. However, on Sports Day, during the class relay race, he takes a chance and begins to open up to them.

In the middle of all of this, all of his classmates, himself included, have one email from a something called “King” delivered to their cellphones. The students all regard it as some simple trick, but Nobuaki knows exactly what this is. A conflict known as the game of “death” is about to begin.

The Rules of King’s Game
1. Full class participation is mandatory.
2. Please follow all of the orders in the emails that are delivered from the king within 24 hours.
3. Those who do not follow the orders will be punished.
4. You cannot quit Kings Game part of the way through.

Three Episode Impression

Nobuaki Kanazawa has just transferred into his new school. He speaks to no one regardless of how much his new classmates try to interact with him. One day he finally decides to open up to his classmates and begins to show a softer side to himself. That is when he learns of his mistake. Everyone’s phone dings saying that they are all now a part of King’s Game. No one believes it till that night when classmates who disobey the king all kill themselves. Suddenly, once again, Nobuaki is forced to live through the hell that is King’s Game.

This anime is another one that is on the fence. The story is ridiculously bad and the characters are very polarizing. You either like them or hate them. There is no in between. Though, through that, you do feel for Nobuaki who is struggling to get his classmates believe him and cooperate with him for the King’s Game. Also, Mamoru Miyano voices Nobuaki which is a definite bonus. (Kei from Ajin) Other than that, you see the darkness pouring out of people as they are whipped into a frenzy each episode. Beyond that though, this is feeling slightly melodramatic about everything. Time is also a slight issue as, since there are 10000 characters, it is hard to tell when he is talking about the past school versus the present school.
