In the city of Eridana, there live two spell formulists: Gaius, who overcomes bad luck with his quick wit, and Gigina, a cruel but beautiful swordsman. These two may be natural enemies with serious compatibility issues, but when it comes to battle, they somehow work together perfectly.

Standing in the way of these two are “the grotesque ones”, such as dragons and giants, as well as a perilous tragedy to humankind. Despite the hostility between them, Giaus and Gigina continue to live on.

Gaius Sorel

A man from Tseberun and a rank 13 spell formulist. Although he longs for peace, he always runs into unfortunate and torturous situations that leave him writhing in pain, such as his hands and legs getting blown off and his organs scattered about.

Gigina Ashley-Bufh

Voice Actor: Hosoya Yoshimasa

One of the Drakken people, known for their prowess in battle, and a rank 13 spell formulist. Brutal and cold, he’s always looking for a fight. He loves furniture, even insisting that his chair Hiruruka is his daughter.

Jivunya Lorezzo

Voice Actor: Youko Hikasa

Jivunya was born between the worlds of Arlian and human, and is Gaius’s lover. Her characteristics are her pointed ears, silver hair, and fair white skin. She has a strong sense of justice, is affectionate, and is concerned about the sorts of dangerous work that Gaius undertakes. He constantly reminds her that she is too good for him. Anyway, her cooking is more of the Arlian style of horrendous cooking. In spite of the fact that she worked as an average office lady in a pharmaceutical company, if you corner her, her scary side will come out.

Nidvolk

Voice Actor: Yuuko Kaida

Nidvolk is the woman who is responsible for the multiple jushiki (spell formula) murders that have been occurring around the city of Eridana. She has long, black hair that reaches down to her waist, green eyes, white, porcelain skin, and is wrapped in clothing that seems to excise the darkness of the night. Nidvolk is a formulist that wields an incredibly powerful gravity jushiki (spell formula), that very few people alive can use. Looking for vegance, she roams the city of Eridana at night.

Mordin Orjes Gyunei

Voice Actor: Takaya Hashi

Mordin carries many titles. He is the Head Cardinal of The Church of Revelation as well as the proxy for the Emperor Orjes of the Tsebern Dragon Empire, one of the Five Noble Houses. This middle-aged man is always all smiles. An idealist, he loves nothing more than his country, it’s people, and the world. On the other hand though, he is a cool-headed pragmatist in order to protect them. Within the Tsebern Dragon Empire where formulists dominate, he has no talent whatsoever is jushiki formula. Rather, he moves his people through his discernment of political and military affairs, and through his own trickery.
