Little Gion Is Amazing!

Alfonso "Fonzy" Ortiz

In this week’s episode of All Out!!, the team has finally taken full flight in their scrimmage game against Tenjiku High School. Spirits are pretty high as they battle it out against a team which has made a name for themselves as they have just entered the sport of Rugby. You get to see the Jinko team play their best as a unit of players who work together. Unfortunately, the same can not be said for the opposing team, Tenjiku. As they begin to fall apart during the second half of the game, with some players having extreme differences, you begin to understand and realize that playing as a team is very important.

Jinko has been doing exceptionally well during this scrimmage; from Natsuki scoring an awesome Try and putting the team on the scoreboard, to Sekizan being more and more enthusiastic about functioning as a team. The moment here is when we get to see little Gion start his first game as a Flanker. You’d think due to his size that he would be pulverized by the opposing team but, oh no, that is not the case. Gion rushes in to help defend players who have been tackled down in order to gain control of the ball and continuing to push forward. Gion is showing his skills off to everyone and it is exemplary. The coach only told him one thing, “Be the first one to the ball”, and in turn, Gion knew what he had to do. If Gion couldn’t make it to his teammates in time to help protect or push them forward on the field, then he should help by taking out the opposing players so they have no chance of recovering the ball.

With his intense training and positive attitude, Gion has definitely made a mark as a valuable player on the team.

GO JINKO!! Gion is so awesome!!

Wait.. We Aren’t Playing an Atlus Game?

Nagareboshi

FINALLY the story is moving forward with Ao no Exorcist. It has been nothing but plot, plot, plot, and more plot just like a Persona game. To be frank, it is really damaging that it has taken them half the series to progress forward when we are only getting 12 episodes but I digress. The koma sword backstory is finished when Shiro Fujimoto assists the temple in healing all of their ill practitioners. However he is chased out by the hardheaded priest for going against their beliefs. After a dramatic exit, we return to the present where the forces of evil are about to revive the Impure King. But that is not before the secrets of the Myoda sect are thrown out into the light. That is not before Mamushi is screwed over and Tatsuma Suguro appears in fire magic to fight against the revival of the impure King. What they actually do is serve Karura as their source of power in exchange for secrecy and deception. It seems a bit out of left field, but long story short the story gets good here.

The Impure King is revived, surprised, surprise, but then the story would be done. They attempt to seal him outside of the temple itself, however it does not work and of all things, Toudou kills Suguro!!!! He then eats Karura!!!! WTF!!

While my head is spinning, it does finally feel refreshing to have some action in the series rather than it being horribly boorish. I was honestly about one more episode away from dropping this, but this was enough to pull me back into enjoying the series. Let’s see what else the series has in store!

So much story at once!!!

How to Act When You’re Famous: A Guide Not Written by Koyuki

Title: Fuuka Ep. 7

Ellyn Barnes

Other than a few arguments and misunderstandings here and there, Fuuka has been pretty light on the drama so far. Despite the interpersonal and musical challenges our main group of characters have been facing, nothing has gone terribly wrong - up until this episode, that is. In episode seven, a photo of Yuu and Koyuki exchanging their pinky promise is uploaded to Twitter, and the internet explodes. With this, not only is Koyuki’s career put in danger, but Yuu and his band’s performance at the school festival also becomes a target for angry fans.

The biggest moment in this week’s episode was when, despite being told by her manager not to admit that it was her in the photo or comment on the scandal, Koyuki openly states on television that she and Yuu are just friends. As if that didn’t cause enough of an uproar, she then goes on to admit that she’s been in love with him since she was a child, and that every song she’s written has been about him.

I was honestly shocked by this moment and I’m still not sure how I feel about it. On one hand I want to give Koyuki a round of applause for actually doing something and admitting her feelings. On the other hand, I want to give her a good slap for doing it in such an idiotic way and putting her crush and his friends in danger. She doesn’t even realise what she’s done until she sneaks into the school festival and sees all of her fans rioting. But with Yuu and the others about to perform with a positive mindset, let’s hope all is resolved in a very Fuuka-like fashion next time.

Poor Fuuka, too... She said she’d support Koyuki’s love but we all know Fuuka has feelings for Yuu...

And So the Mystery Continues…!

Jenangelx3

Alright, this week’s episode of Chaos;Child was very interesting. We start off with finding out that the main character, Takuru is a psychic and he had no idea, but it is at the very end that really brings the mystery forward with Takuru’s friend Nono who reveals that she has something to do with the entire mystery. That, and then we find Uki, who has been adamant about going back to the basement to help the others, hidden in a dark cellar of some sort crying because everyone is gone.
Man, first we had the creepy sumo stickers (which I do not equate to looking like sumo wrestlers), odd deaths, strange powers, and now there is more mystery in the pot?! Chaos;Child really dives headfirst into the dark stuff, much like its predecessor. I am the type who likes to figure out my mysteries and when more mysteries fall in without any real clues, I am lost. I think Nono’s secret will have to do with why she is so protective of Takuru as well. And maybe, Takuru’s psychic abilities will be the key to everything! That is why he is the main character, right? Just like in Chaos;Head. Kinda.

Just what is going to happen?

Takahashi-sensei has a will of steel!

Lizzy Nyanko

In this week’s episode of Demi-chan, Takahashi visits HIkari’s home to meet up with her and Himari’s dad. He gets to know the family and realizes why the girls are so well adapted. The whole episode revolves around this, except for my favorite moment, which seems to be setting us up for something that will (hopefully!) happen later in the series.

After the teachers’ meeting, Takahashi and Sakie (Ms Satou) are walking down the hall talking about how long the meeting took. Sakie mentions she has to stay late anyway so it doesn’t matter and then reminds Takahashi that crowded trains aren’t a good idea, with her being a succubus and all. To which he replies, “Oh yeah, the aphrodisi….” “um, yeah, that’s terrible”. Sakie has a theory that Takahashi is impervious to her aphrodisiac effects, so as she’s about to say goodbye, Sakie musters up courage and decides to test him. In her “unsexy” track suit, she squeezes her boobs up with her arms, and with a nervous but sultry voice says “Takahashi-sensei… good evening”, bows -still enhancing her breasts- and leaves. She’s thrilled because she thinks that if she has no aphrodisiac effect on him, maybe she can have a real relationship with him, so she walks away blushing adorably and grinning. Cut to Takahashi holding his chest, so turned on he can barely stand. “She’s so erotic!”

How does he do it!? How can he have such self-control!?? The thing is he doesn’t show it even a little when he’s in front of her, but his reaction after she walks away is always priceless! I really want him to be with Sakie!!!!!
