As it nears the end of the year, there are more holidays coming up. Holidays are a time to be with loved ones no matter what country you are in. The holidays are best spent with family. It's the bond that can't be so easily broken, and everyone has a family in some shape or form. Even in anime, family tends to be where the heart is no matter what time of year.

There are so many anime families out there; have you ever thought of which one you would want as your own? From cool anime families to loving, anime families are pretty awesome, but don't think that just because these families are fictional that they have weaker bonds or better situations. Even an anime family has their own circumstances, yet don't think that that will stop them from being close! Check out this list of the top 10 anime families!

What would you do for free rent? Kyouhei, Takenaga, Ranmaru and Yukinoji have moved into a glamorous mansion for free. The catch? They have to turn the landlady's niece into a proper young lady. Unfortunately for them, Nakahara Sunako is a gloomy girl who likes nothing more than watching horror movies surrounded by anatomical figures in the dark recess of her bedroom. To add to that, the boys are too bright for Sunako to look in the face or else she gets nosebleeds.

Even though Sunako's family isn't quite what you'd call "normal", in Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, Sunako's family is one of the best. Her dad's a fierce yet overprotective man who will wrestle a bear to protect his daughter while her mom's the delicate beauty that keeps everything in check. Sunako's aunt is also the type to galavant all over the world on the arm of a rich man, but even with all her carefree activities, she still keeps Sunako's best interest in mind. Sunako's family might be different from everyone else's, but they love each other and that's really all you need.

9. Asahina Family (Brothers Conflict)

Hinata Ema's father has suddenly remarried so she does not want to disturb her father and new stepmother, so Ema decided to move into the Sunrise Residence where she finds herself with 13 new brothers. Now, the Asahina family may have their sights set on Ema in one form or another, but overall, they are the family that Ema needs the most. As an only child all her life, Ema is a child who desires companionship, especially when her father used to often leave her alone. The Asahina family is always there to keep her from being alone now. They keep her feeling loved and secure. And when some of Ema's brothers get a little too intimate, Julius is always there to keep them in check! Ema definitely has a great family watching out for her.

Now Kippei must man up and learn of the responsibilities of an adult while trying to mend Yuzu's little broken heart.

Who would ever count on a teenager to raise a child? Probably no one, but someone Kippei ends up with the custody of his cousin, Yuzu, who's broken hearted after being left behind by her mother. Although they aren't the most conventional family, these two are just what the other needs. Kippei isn't sensitive or responsible, but with Yuzu he learns how to give someone everything, something that he never knew how to do before. To Yuzu, Kippei is the person she can learn to depend on and trust. You can see that there's a lot of love in this family.

She didn’t sign up for this, but Tooru wants to learn more about the Sohma curse and mend the broken lives caused by the curse.

Being part of the inner circle of the Sohma clan is a special privilege for some and a curse to others. Although it is creates a caste system amongst the family members, the curse does bring together distant cousins and family members that would otherwise not talk together. In this way, the Sohma clan is closer than a lot of other families. There is a strong bond the draws all of these anime family members together, and makes it so that they can only depend on each other. One might call it a curse, but perhaps it is a magic that makes it so that no one is forgotten.

With a father that buys his daughter eroges, a cousin whose a cop and turns the other cheek, and an adorable cousin, Konata's got a great family that doesn't restrict her or pressure her. It's the ideal life, especially for a teenage otaku. Who wouldn't love getting their hands on 18+ material as a teen from their own parent?

5. Fairy Tail Family (Fairy Tail)

Although she wishes to find "Salamander" who is in town so she can join Fairy Tail, little does she know that Natsu may be the key to joining the mage guild.

The Fairy Tail guild is a makeshift anime family with individuals from all sorts of backgrounds. They may fight, destroy towns, and cause a ruckus, but they have got each other's backs and defend their anime family with their heart and soul. Fairy Tail is a family formed with strong bonds made of love and trust. Though they may not be blood related, there not many families out there that you can have as much faith in as Fairy Tail.

4. Uzumaki Family (Naruto: Shippuden)

The Uzumaki anime Family may seem broken due to the events of the path, but it is a family connected together through strong feelings of love. Naruto may have grown up as an orphan, but he believes in his parents and their goodwill. They protected him with their own lives and entrusted the village in his own hands. They may not have been able to grow up together, but the trust that Naruto, Minato and Kushina is strong. It's not the most ideal anime family situation, but that doesn't mean they aren't one of the best families.

3. Zoldyck (Hunter x Hunter)

There is probably no cooler family than the Zoldycks. They are an infamous anime family of elite assassins with power greater than most hunters. Whether or not you think they're loving, you can't ignore how much everyone cares for Killua. His own brother implants a needle into him so that Killua will survive while his father keeps Killua's happiness and best interest in mind. The Zoldycks may seem like a cold and heartless anime family, but they don't hurt others needlessly; they have their own morals. Killua doesn't always agree with his family, but you can tell that they love him and he loves them in their own ways.

2. Takanashi Family (Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai!)

Segawa Yuuta had lost his parents as a child and was raised by his older sister Yuri. Unfortunately, Yuri's plane goes missing and no one is willing to take in all three girls so Yuuta volunteers to take care of the Takanashi siblings to keep the family together.

Not many university students would put their future on the line to take care of their cousins, but Yuuta is unlike most others. He sacrifices a lot to keep his step-cousins together, but they also work hard to make living together a lot easier. They may all have their own things going on, but as an anime family, the Takanashi family is a close one unwilling to part no matter how much they must endure. It takes a lot of work to make everything work together, but these kids aren't the type to back down from what it means to be an anime family.

1. Daikichi & Rin (Usagi Drop)

When Daikichi attends his grandfather's funeral, he discovers that his grandfather left behind a little girl, Rin. Rin is his grandfather's illegitimate daughter and Daikichi's aunt, but her mother is missing. No one wants to take Rin in so Daikichi volunteers to raise Rin. While he doesn't know anything about raising little girls, Daikichi does his best. These two knew nothing about each other, but soon they both teach each other important life lessons.

Daikichi knows nothing about taking care of children, but Rin is just what he needs in life. Rin is the special little girl to change Daikichi's life, even if he didn't know it needed changing. It's an unusual family situation, Rin being Daikichi's aunt and all, but they both love each other and isn't that all what matters?

Families come in all shapes and sizes. They can be formed of blood or of love, but that doesn't mean that they differ in strength. As the holidays near, think about what type of family you have and what type of family you want.
