This looks so cute!! Watching the trailer, it reminds me of Barakamon and Usagi Drop! I feel like watching it will make me hungry, though!

Yuuichi Nakamura will be playing the main character - he's playing a similar role in summer 2016's Amaama to Inazuma too, which is also about a kid who loves to eat!

Synopsis

Souta Tawara, thirty years old. When he returns to his home town, he encounters a strange young boy, who loves udon and frogs and has ears and… a tail?!

Souta Tawara is a web designer living in Tokyo. Following his father’s death, he returns to his hometown and his family’s udon shop. There, he finds a child fast asleep in a cooking pot. Although the child looks human at first glance, he’s actually a tanuki (raccoon dog) who has taken the form of a person!

As time passes calmly by in Kagawa Prefecture, also known as the Land of Udon, this slightly awkward pair start their warmhearted life together.

Three Episode Impression

If you're after a soothing series this fall, look no further than Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari. Set out in the sticks of Kagawa prefecture, the background is full of the sights and sounds of Japanese nature. Add to that a slightly lost adult and a persistent child and you've got an anime reminiscent of Barakamon. Except this child is actually a Tanuki, so that means double the mischief! If you enjoyed the focus on human relationships and the overall super-sweet and sometimes poignant vibe of Amaama to Inazuma in summer 2016, this is definitely worth a watch. If soothing slice of life isn't your bag, Udon no Kuni probably isn't for you - unless you need something to send you off to sleep.
