What You Need to Know:

  • We met part of the Xenoma team back at the Tokyo Indie Fest, and it seems now their project has finally kicked off! Their e-skin product incorporates stretchable sensors and electronics to detect the user's movement. In doing so, e-skin apparel provides a new intuitive and immersive input for interacting with virtual reality content and games as well as means for analyzing exercise and athletic sports while maintaining the comfort, durability and machine washability of a regular shirt. Xenoma has started their Kickstarter project to provide a new, open source platform for more people to create and share user experiences.
  • Those looking to purchase one of these fancy looking shirts can do so through the kickstarter page, and the consumer version is around $479. This version has the same level of functionality for end users and individual developers as their e-skin Developer’s Kit for enterprises. A special edition cybernetic design will be available as a Kickstarter exclusive.
  • Xenoma has set a target of goal of raising $50,000. The project will run until September 6th.
